Just a short drive from the house, DG Market is our go-to recommendation for picking up the essentials. It’s much more than a typical Dollar General, with a grocery section that includes limited selections of fresh produce, meat, dairy, frozen foods, and pantry staples.

Best For: Last-minute groceries, forgotten essentials, and stocking up for a few days.

Salings Grocery & Bait Shop

A local favorite that’s been serving the Nolin Lake community for years. Along with groceries and convenience items, you’ll find fishing bait, tackle, drinks, snacks, and a deli with made-to-order sandwiches.

Drive Time: Approximately 5 minutes

Best For: Picking up lunch before a day on the lake, grabbing fishing supplies, or supporting a local business.

Gas Stations

Z Mart

The closest place to fill up before a day of exploring. They also carry snacks, drinks, ice, and other convenience items.

Drive Time: 15 minutes

Best For: Fuel, ice, and a quick stop before heading to the lake.

Firewood

We do not provide firewood at the house. You can usually find it at:

Our Tip: Firewood is one of the first things to sell out on holiday weekends, so it’s a good idea to grab it earlier in the day.

Fishing Supplies

Need bait before heading to the lake?

We recommend Salings Grocery & Bait Shop, where you’ll find live bait, tackle, snacks, drinks, and just about everything you need for a day of fishing.

Our Tip: Even if you’re not fishing, it’s worth stopping in for one of their deli sandwiches before heading out.

Pharmacy & Larger Stores

If you need prescriptions, medical supplies, or a wider selection of groceries, Leitchfield is your best option.

Best For: Stocking up for longer stays or picking up specialty items.

Before You Head to the Lake

A quick stop before your lake day can make the rest of the day much easier.

Our Tip: Pack more drinks than you think you’ll need. Between the sun and the water, everyone gets thirsty faster than expected.

Cell Service

Cell service is generally good around the house, but it can become spotty in certain areas around Nolin Lake and Mammoth Cave National Park.

Our Tip: Download maps, boat navigation apps, and any tour tickets before leaving the house so you’ll have them even if your signal drops.
